Moutere

Low tide at Grossi Point

The Mapua channel is the western-most entry point to the Waimea Inlet. This boat was moored just along the coast from Grossi Point, a popular picnic and BBQ spot that sticks out into the channel.

Storm damage, Cyclone Gita

Ex-cyclone Gita came through the Tasman District in late February, doing considerable damage to orchards throughout the region. Moutere vines

The Moutere Hills lie west of Mapua and Ruby Bay and the Moutere Valley is one of the sunniest parts of New Zealand. The area has been popular for apple growing, forestry and, in recent decades, grape growing. These grape vines are at Neudorf Vineyard in the Upper Moutere Valley.
